When asked to reflect on her proudest moments, Diane Ambler wrote:

“In the mixed bag of joy, frustration, aggravation, hard work and satisfaction I experienced in building my career, one sentiment stands out: my greatest sense of achievement relates uniquely to contributing to the growth in knowledge, autonomy and leadership skills of the young women around me.

As an initial architect and leader of my law firm’s committee supporting women in the profession, I was able to devise platforms giving women access to opportunities to pursue and achieve success as well as providing the support and tools to develop the confidence to succeed.

As an adjunct professor of LLM students at Georgetown Law, I was well positioned to similarly mentor and advise students entering the professional world, and I have been rewarded with many young women continuing to seek my counsel along their own career journeys.

The good fortune of my successes gave me standing to support and effectively advocate for women, and I did not shy away from using that superpower. My dedication to the empowerment of women and to the promotion and maximization of their potential has been reflected in my leadership roles with NAWL and elsewhere, and has informed themes of programs and initiatives I have promoted, including within my college and law school alma maters. Being viewed as a role model by many wonderful women has been my greatest honor.”
