Colleen Kearney has served as SVP, Deputy General Counsel for Shutterstock, Inc. since September 2021. Colleen’s focus has been on corporate law—corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, SEC compliance—but her in-house experience has broadened her field to include litigation, employment, and education law, among others. Responsible for leading Shutterstock’s global legal strategy, serving as a strategic advisor on business and legal issues, including the licensing of its content data in the emerging AI space.
Colleen began her career at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP and spent a decade as Deputy General Counsel at 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc., in the retail and e-commerce sector. Immediately before joining Shutterstock, Colleen was the General Counsel for the School of the New York Times and Sotheby’s Institute of Art and responsible for adding Manchester City Football to the portfolio.
She earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and B.A. from Fairfield University.
