Those involved agreed that, while some progress had been made, the equitable treatment of women lawyers is still a long way off. View Report May 24, 2012 Euromoney LMG Americas Women in Business Law Awards 2012 The shortlist for the inaugural Euromoney Legal Media Group Americas Women in Business Law Awards has been announced. The Americas awards follow successful sister events in Europe and Asia-at Claridges in London and the Hong Kong Jockey Club respectively. See Awardees April 2, 2012 International Model Project for Women's Rights (IMPOWR) IMPOWR, an initiative of the American Bar Association, is offering the opportunity to volunteer in the field of international law. No previous experience is necessary. Volunteers will help establish a collaborative online database of information on laws affecting women's rights in over 185 countries around the world. MORE INFO March 8, 2012 International Women in Law Summit 2012 - Setting the Agenda for Change The International Women in Law Summit 2012 aims to highlight not only barriers but most critically future strategies to ensure that more senior women advance to leadership positions, and reflects the talent pool entering the profession. The Summit aims to create a manifesto for women in the legal profession and to drive a more proactive agenda at both national and international levels. The Summit is jointly organised by the Law Society and the USA based National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) and is supported by the Association of Women Solicitors (AWS) and Catalyst. The Summit, sponsored by LexisNexis, will consist of a one day conference, preceded by a networking gala dinner on the evening of 7 March.
